We'd rather you didn't pay for something you're not using. This page explains exactly how trials, cancellations and refunds work, so there are no surprises on your statement.
1. The free trial
Every Premium subscription starts with a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial. Cancel at any point before it ends and no payment is taken. If you don't cancel, the subscription begins automatically when the trial ends and your first payment is collected then. Cancel from your App Store or Google Play account settings.
2. Who actually issues refunds
Every Premium subscription and tip is purchased through the App Store or Google Play. That means Apple or Google — not us — takes the payment and holds the money, so refunds have to go through them. We can't reverse a charge we never received.
We'll still help. If a store declines a request we think is fair, write to us and we'll advocate for you, and we can always extend Premium access on your account as a goodwill gesture even when the money can't be returned.
3. Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time from your App Store or Google Play account settings — cancelling stops future charges, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you've already paid for.
If a renewal genuinely caught you off guard — you hadn't opened the app in months, or you meant to cancel and didn't — request a refund from the store and tell us. Both Apple and Google routinely approve those, and a note from us saying we don't object tends to help.
4. How to request a refund
App Store (iPhone, iPad): go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find Dookie Deluxe and choose "Request a refund". Apple usually decides within 48 hours.
Google Play (Android): open the Play Store, go to Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history, find the order and choose "Request a refund".
Stuck, or think you've been treated unfairly? Email admin@dookiedeluxe.com from the address on your account and we'll respond within two business days.
Bought through Google Play?
Subscriptions purchased inside the Android app are billed by Google, not by us, so refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy through your Google account. If you've tried Google and are stuck, contact us anyway and we'll help where we can.
5. Bought through the App Store?
Subscriptions and tips purchased inside the iOS app are billed by Apple, not by us. Apple is the merchant of record, so refunds are handled under Apple's policy — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you've tried Apple and are stuck, contact us anyway and we'll help where we can.
6. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have under consumer law where you live — including, in the UK and EU, the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. Where those rights are more generous than this policy, they apply.
7. Before you chargeback
If you see a charge you don't recognise, please email us first. We can identify the transaction and point you at the right store refund process, which is usually faster than a bank dispute resolves. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may result in your account being suspended while the dispute is investigated.
8. Exceptions
We may decline a refund where there is evidence of fraud, abuse of this policy through repeated refund requests, or a breach of our Terms of Service.
9. Contact
